FRENCHTOWN — Firefighters braved the frigid cold to battle a semi-truck fire on Interstate 90 on Wednesday.
The Frenchtown Rural Fire District (FRFD) was called out to I-90 eastbound near mile marker 66 shortly before midnight for a report of a semi-truck on fire.
Fire crews arrived on the scene to find the trailer fully engulfed and were on the scene for approximately five hours.
The trailer was hauling "toasted" oats which shut down the interstate while crews extinguished the fire.
A mechanical failure was believed to have started the fire, according to a social media post.
