RFK Jr. speaks to Scripps News about the presidential race: 'I'm in it to win it'

Kennedy got attention for reports saying that he may drop out of the presidential race and endorse former President Donald Trump, but on Friday he told Scripps News that wasn't true.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennnedy Jr. told Scripps News on Friday that he has no intention of dropping out of the presidential race.

His comments come after reports have suggested he could exit the race and endorse former President Donald Trump.

"I never intended to get out of the campaign. That's just fake news," Kennedy said.

He added, "I have no plans to endorse any other candidate. I'm in it to win it. Our donations are way up, our social engagement up a thousand percent since President Biden dropped out. Our volunteers are up, our email engagement is up. We have tremendous momentum right now and we intend to win this campaign," Kennedy told Scripps News.

When asked whether there was anything that could cause him to endorse Trump, Kennedy said, "Not that I can think of."

When pressed about his conversations with Trump, Kennedy repeated that he would not detail private conversations.

Kennedy was speaking at a cryptocurrency conference in Nashville on Friday. He has talked about the use of a strategic U.S. reserve of bitcoin, which could be used in part to pay national debts.

"People ought to be able to transact, they ought to be able to buy it easily, put it in their wallet without government asking what they're doing," Kennedy said. "It's going to democratize our country and democratize our monetary system."

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is also making an appearance at the conference this weekend and speak to attendees.

The Democratic Party also has a presence at the conference, but nowhere near as visible or as robust as the Republican Party's.
