Julia Roberts wins for best Emmy snub reaction

Posted

Julia Roberts is so good at accepting awards that she even knows how to graciously accept a snub.

The star of Amazon’s “Homecoming” did not receive an Emmy nomination for her work in the military-themed thriller, for which she is also an executive producer. However, the Oscar winner might have a chance if the Television Academy decides to create a category for best reaction to an Emmy snub.

“Well, I’m in exceptional company at least,” Roberts said on Instagram, along with a screengrab of her phone depicting a news alert informing readers that neither she, George Clooney, nor Emma Stone were recognized for their television work.

Clooney’s Hulu series “Catch-22” received two nominations in technical categories — sound editing and visual effects — but he received no individual honors. Stone and her Netflix series “Maniac” were completely shut out.

Perhaps adding salt to Roberts’ wound, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s Netflix concert special that also happens to be named “Homecoming” is nominated for six Emmy Awards.
