Albuquerque, NM (KOAT) — Surveillance video shows a woman pounding a hammer against a glass door, while a man stands behind her, holding a gun.
“F— you, Dee!” the woman on the video screams.
The criminal complaint in this case says the people who did this were not strangers to Dee Vizcaino. At least one was her neighbor.
Police body camera video shows officers arriving and finding a broken door and shattered glass. Vizcaino told KOAT that for years, she had an ongoing feud with her neighbor, Joseph Wright.
“You have no peace of mind. My serenity is gone, my peace of mind, my ability to enjoy my home,” Vizcaino said.
She said the harassment began more than a decade ago after she called police to report hearing loud noise. The criminal complaint said Vizcaino filed multiple restraining orders over the years, but the harassment continued.
She said that 2015, she installed security cameras and documented and recorded what was happening around her home.
“We’re going to live here until you die!” a man screams to a camera. “We’re going to enjoy living next to you until you’re done!” He says, then goes on to curse at Vizcaino.
Court records show that in 2017, a jury found Joseph Wright guilty of harassment and criminal trespassing.
Prosecutors told KOAT-TV that they worked out a deal with Wright, giving him probation and dismissing the trespassing charges so he wouldn’t appeal the case.
But court records also show the state believed Wright violated his probation and continued to harass Vizcaino.
Prosecutors said the clock has run out on his probationary period, so now he’s free and clear.
The house next to Vizcaino’s is now for sale.
She told us she’s relieved — sort of.
She said she is now contemplating taking civil action.
