FLORENCE –The Florence outdoor ice rink opened up again for the public to enjoy.
The rink was filled with water on December 2 with the help of the Florence, Three Mile, and Stevensville Fire departments.
It’s open at all hours of the day and residents are asked to please clean up after themselves before they leave.
Florence resident, Cory Horsens, and his family use the rink often and say that they see people often get really excited when they see the facility.
“It’s fantastic. It gives us the ability to just skate here locally without having to drive back and forth to Missoula and it’s an opportunity for the kids to get some exercise in the cold winter days that normally they would be stuck inside,” Horsens said. “So it’s a great facility for the whole community.”
This year they have even installed new lights making it possible for people to skate later into the night at Florence Park.
