MISSOULA — The Can the Cats Food Drive -- which is entering its 20th year -- kicks off Saturday.

The universities and communities in Missoula and Bozeman will compete who can collect the most food for their local food banks.

The food drive will run from Saturday until the Brawl of the Wild game in Bozeman on Nov. 23.

All donations in Missoula will benefit the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center and the University of Montana Food Pantry.

The Missoula community raised just over 404,000 pounds of food last year. The goal this year is 406 thousand.

Members of the public are encouraged to donate food, host a food drive, donate, spread the word and volunteer.
