MISSOULA — St Patrick Hospital patients will be receiving a special Valentine’s Day surprise thanks to members of Mended Hearts.
Over 20 members of the Missoula Chapter of Mended Hearts created Valentine’s cards on Monday which will be distributed to the entire population of hospital patients.
This marks the tenth year the non-profit organization has done this project.
Mended Hearts motto is, “It’s great to be alive and to help others” and Missoula Chapter past President, Randy Gay, says they want patients to know that someone is thinking of them.
“This is just a way of helping others, the people that are in the hospital right now with it and showing that somebody’s caring…that they are here and not just a patient," he said.
Gay added that many of the members and volunteers of Mended Hearts are people that have gone through the same health issues that current patients are facing.
