ALBERTON – This week’s One Class at a Time winner is Alberton kindergarten teacher Cori Miranda.
Miranda was awarded a $250 check thanks to Republic Services and KPAX-TV.
Miranda is purchasing dramatic play costumes and accessories for her young students. Among the outfits the students will be getting are firefighter accessories, construction worker, doctor and hair stylist.
She says for her age group, these items are a great way to engage her students.
“I always like to change things up a little bit, but ever since I started teaching kindergarten I wanted a dramatic play area,” Miranda said. “Problem solving, they work on language, getting along, they create, they experiment.”
