STEVENSVILLE – This week’s One Class at a Time winner is Stevensville kindergarten teacher Jennifer Walthall.
Walthall is receiving a check for $250 thanks to a grant from Republic Services and KPAX. She says the best way for her young students to learn is through hands-on activities.
She says that it is important to have a large number of tactile objects that will enhance what she is teaching in front of her students.
Walthall has a specific idea in mind with this grant.
“Well, one thing that I want to buy is an alphabet tub which has all the letters and has different objects that start with that letter, so later on they get to learn how to do more reading and can use those words and those objects,” Walthall said.
