One Class at a Time: Washington Middle School

Posted

MISSOULA – This week’s One Class at a Time winner is hoping to inspire his students to explore the world, and he’s buying equipment which will allow them to do it from home.

Washington Middle School teacher Bryce Nederhoed received a $250 check from Republic Services Marketing Manager Chad Bauer and KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes.

Nederhoed said when he asked his class where they had traveled outside of Montana, some had never left the state. He put in a request for Virtual Reality Cardboard Applications and viewers for students to explore other places.

He hopes this experience will encourage them to visit other countries and bring the knowledge they gather back to Montana.

“We’re trying to teach kids the jobs that aren’t even available yet, trying to think outside the box, getting kids excited about something different,” Nederhoed said. “Maybe getting out of Montana for a little bit and come back with the skills that they have learned somewhere is essentially what we went.”
