MISSOULA — Sentinel High School Counselor Erica Zins is this week's recipient of a Republic Services and KPAX-TV One Class at a Time grant.
Zins was awarded a $250 check from Republic Services Municipal Manager Chad Bauer and KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes. Zins, who is part of the school district Counselor Leadership Team, says they will use the money to continue their professional development.
The goal for the Leadership Team is to promote better advocacy for students by further developing the counseling program. One of the ways they do this is by bringing in outside resources from professionals around the country.
"We're kind of an enigma, school counselors, and so we kind of have to do all our advocacy for ourselves, and we just try to bring other things in and try to support our school counseling program the best that it can be," Zins said.
