BONNER – Our warming temperatures are bringing an increase in fire danger across western Montana.

Emergency crews were called out at around 1 p.m. on Saturday to battle a fire along US Highway 200 in the Bonner area.

A resident was attempting to burn away a log jam left after the last flood season when harsh winds in the area caused the fire to become out of control.

The Missoula Rural Fire District, the Montana Department of Natural Resources and the Greenough Potomac Volunteer Fire Department were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

No injuries have been reported and fire officials say that no structures were damaged in the blaze.,
