MISSOULA — One longtime Missoula summertime event will continue this summer despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bonner Park was the place to be Wednesday night as the Missoula City Band kicked off their annual summer concert series.
The local musicians played classics like Benny Goodman's “Swing Swing Swing” and George Gershwin’s “Summertime.”
The band has performed their free open-air concerts for the public for over 100 years and despite COVID-19, this summer will be no different for the local musicians.
The weekly concerts provide a perfect opportunity for those who are looking for a socially distanced event that will still allow you to get out of the house and interact with others.
The concerts -- which are scheduled for each Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the bandshell in Bonner Park -- run through Aug. 12.
