MISSOULA — We have good news for those who have been anxiously waiting for the 2020 opening of Splash Montana -- your wait is almost up.

The Missoula Parks and Recreation Department will be opening the outdoor water park for lap swim and Aquacize on Wednesday, June 10.

The opening will come in phases, with the lap pool being the first available attraction.

Splash River, the zero-entry pool, and water slides will be open around June 22, barring any additional restrictions.

Parks and Recreation Director, Donna Gaukler, says there will be limited capacity, but their goal is to accommodate as many people as possible while keeping everyone safe.

"By the end of this week, we’ll get hours posted, you’ll be able to pre-register for lap times, and that’s to limit our capacity and to allow for distancing," she explained. "We’re going to spend or do everything in about 90-minute sections and in between, we’ll be deep cleaning, and sanitizing cleaning.”
