What is your job?
My job is to lead the team coverage focusing mostly in Northwest Montana. I'm a one man band journalist so I shoot, edit, report and write all my stories. I also host the Flathead Valley Show which airs in the Flathead Valley. Through that show, I've been able to tell some really unique and fun stories. Some even involving dogs!
When did you start working here?
I started working at KPAX/KAJ in January of 2019.
Where else have you worked?
Prior to reporting for KPAX/KAJ I was the bureau reporter for ABCFOX Montana based in Kalispell as well.
Where did you go to college?
I went to a tiny college in Minnesota called St. Olaf College. The Great Gatsby gives us a shout out! And no, it's not the town in the Golden Girls.
Where did you grow up?
I'm an east coast girl through and through. I grew up in New Jersey and then moved to the Boston area when I was 10. To many people's disappointment I don't have a fun Jersey or Boston accent. Although, I can do both on command.
What are some of the biggest news stories you have covered or led coverage of?
My first year on the job I broke national news with the disappearance of Madeline Connelly. Madeline went hiking in the Great Bear Wilderness with her dog and was missing for six days. She was luckily found alive. I drove to Glacier National Park and shot her interview on my camera while also live streaming her interview to Facebook. It was a crazy couple of days after that!
What is your philosophy on news?
News is a public service. We are here to help answer the public's questions and to tell their stories. And we need to do so with integrity and respect.
What do you love about living here?
What's not to love about Montana? Mountains, Huckleberries and beautiful lakes. I grew up vacationing in Whitefish as a kid so living here full time has been a dream.
