BILLINGS – A woman was stabbed in what police say was a random attack in a downtown Billings grocery store on Monday morning.
Donald E. Partridge, 74, was arrested and booked into Yellowstone County jail for felony assault with a weapon.
According to Sgt. Harley Cagle, the man entered the store after 6 a.m. He allegedly approached the woman, said a few words, then proceeded to stab her.
Cagle said Partridge stayed inside the store following the attack. He was arrested by responding officers.
Partridge, who is described by police as a transient, did not know the woman. She suffered minor injuries in the attack and was not identified.
