Granite County residents urged to prepare for possible flooding

PHILIPSBURG – Granite County authorities are urging residents to get ready for Spring flooding.

Sheriff Scott Dunkerson is warning that due to well above average snowpack and anticipated rapidly warming temperatures,

The Granite County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Emergency Services is advising residents living in low lying areas near rivers and streams to be on the lookout for rapidly rising water levels and potential flooding conditions. 

Residents are encouraged to be ready to evacuate if conditions warrant and report any flooding activity to the  Granite County Sheriff’s Office. Sandbags and sand can be found at the Granite County Road Department, the Hall shop and behind the Philipsburg High School.
