CONDON – Just over two years after the building was razed by fire, Condon residents will gather Saturday to officially mark the comeback of the Mission Mountains Mercantile.

The store burned in an overnight fire in 2016, completely destroying the building and cutting off the only source of groceries and gas for miles in the Swan Valley.

When we last stopped by in April, the store was in the final stages of re-opening, and has since had its’ "soft opening" a few weeks ago.

Now, store owner Len Kobylenski and his management team are ready to make it official, with an all-day grand opening celebration set for Saturday.

The "official" event, such as it is in a laid-back community like Condon, will get underway at 11 a.m. complete with grilled hotdogs, music and prizes. Kids will also have a chance to name the new Sinclair dinosaur, which has been shipped all the way into the Swan Valley to become a new mascot for the rebuilt store.
