KALISPELL – It’s simply called "The Event at Rebecca Farm" and draws thousands to northwest Montana every year, bringing millions of dollars in economic revenue.

But it wouldn’t be possible without the help of volunteers.

The Event was originally started as a way to test military horses, showcasing what it took to be a great horse on and off the battlefield.

Now in its 17th year, competition now has three elements: dressage, cross country and show jumping.

Volunteer opportunities range from jump judging to hospitality and food service to parking.

Adults, teens, and even children are welcomed to volunteer, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during The Event.

Event organizer Sarah Broussard says those volunteers are at the heart of it all.

"One of the greatest things about Rebecca Farm and the event out there is it really is a community compilation. Without the community we would be able to do it," Broussard said.

The Event will be held July 18 through 22.
