PLAINS – It may not be the "official" end of summer, but the Sanders County Fair is always one of the mileposts that marks the end of the season.

Breezy, but very comfortable conditions at the fairgrounds in Plains Friday, as residents from all over the Lower Clark Valley gathered for fun, food, and even a little shopping.

The first few days of the fair are always tense ones for the 4H kids, as they bring their animals, large and small, to show off their critters and skills at raising them over the past year.

That brings a lot of tension to places like the Poultry Barn, where the 4Hers not only show their animals but what they’ve learned about them.

Saturday’s schedule includes the fair parade at 11 a.m. and the rodeo at 8 p.m. with the demolition derby wrapping things up on Sunday evening.
