MISSOULA – Fire crews were called out to battle an early Wednesday morning fire in Missoula.

The Missoula City Fire Department was called out to a mobile home in the 1800 block of Sherwood Street just after 1 a.m.

Missoula Fire Battalion Chief Dave Wolter says firefighters arrived at the scene to find a fully-involved shed and a single wide trailer with smoke and flames showing from the rear half of the structure.

All of the occupants were out of the trailer and fire crews quickly extinguished the flames and removed several kittens alive and well, according to Wolter. The homeowner, however, said that one cat died in the blaze.

The cause of the blaze, which caused an estimated $10,000 in damages, is still under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
