Plentywood Public Schools have canceled classes on Monday as the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office investigates rumors of a threat that may have been made towards the school.

According to Plentywood Schools’ Facebook page, an investigation by law enforcement and the school is currently underway.

Officials indicate the investigation is a precautionary measure and do not feel there is any imminent danger.

The school stated it is unknown whether a threat was truly made, however, they take the safety of their students seriously and are cooperating with law enforcement.

All school activities, including Junior High basketball practice, Speech and Drama practice, FFA competition, and the Veteran’s Assembly, are canceled.
