Crews knock down early morning fire in Alberton

UPDATE – 9:20 a.m.

ALBERTON – Crews were able to quickly knock down a chimney fire in Mineral County on Wednesday morning.

The Frenchtown Rural Fire District was dispatched to reports of a chimney fire at a home in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue at around 6:40 a.m.

Fire officials say the fire was limited to the area around the chimney. However, the house did sustain minor damage around the chimney.

All occupants and pets were able to evacuate safely and working smoke alarms were found in the house.

The Frenchtown Rural Fire District was dispatched to reports of a chimney fire at a home in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue at around 6:40 a.m.

Fire officials were reporting at 7:25 a.m. that the blaze had been knocked down.
