Figure skating for free event held in Missoula

MISSOULA – Montanan’s love for winter sports was evident Saturday at Glacier Ice Rink as the Missoula Figure Skating Club hosted “bring a friend” day on the ice.

Community members had the opportunity to come and receive a free lesson from coaches.

Missoula Figure Skating Club President Jil Dunn — who is also a coach — said learning to skate is a great way for both adults and children to get out and get active.

“Whether they go on to better their skills as a recreational skater or if they go on to be a figure skater or a hockey player they have the skills that they will have the rest of their life to enjoy so that’s kind of why these events are so important,” said Dunn.

These events only happen twice a year so if you’re interested then keep an eye out next year for another opportunity.
