MISSOULA – A company that specializes in making hemp products is joining forces with a Missoula business to create jobs and grow its business.

The Socati Corporation announced earlier this week that it acquired Blue Marble Biomaterials and will use its staff of scientists to make hemp oils and extracts. Socati is known as a leading processor of broad-spectrum hemp extracts like CBD oil.

The acquisition should bring more than two dozen new jobs to the area over the next three to five months. The opportunities range from process technicians, environmental and health issues, project management, and quality control.

Socati Montana General Manager James Stephens told MTN News that this is the perfect marriage.

“When we met, we realized that we were both going to be very synergistic and stronger together, so it was just kind of this natural fit to have Socati acquire Blue Marble and kind of work toward this expansion and be able to bring more jobs and more opportunities to Montana.”

Socati is in the process of moving into Blue Marble’s 22,000 square foot Missoula manufacturing facility which will enable rapid scale production of hemp-derived extracts.
