Bright and early on July 21, Boy Scout Troop 214 set up camp in the Centennial Park Parking lot handing out free masks.
The troop started at 8 A.M. and handed out masks until 11 A.M. to those that fall into the high-risk category for contracting COVID -19 The event is sponsored by the Elkhorn COAD.
With 7,000 masks to give out, Zach Heller said depending on the turnout, this event might happen a few more times.
"Depending on the turnout today, we're definitely going to be keep doing it as much as possible because this is just something that the community needs new masks because they definitely wear out," said Heller.
Troop 214 re-opened to give away more masks on July 21, but to anyone who needed one from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.
