MISSOULA — C.S. Porter teacher, Beck Kellman, is this week’s Republic Services and KPAX-TV sponsored One Class at a Time grant winner.
KPAX-TV General Manager Bob Hermes presented Kellman with a $250 check which Kellman is going to use to purchase ten headsets with microphones.
Kellman says the classroom can be a loud environment, making it difficult for students to gather, process, and write down their thoughts.
She says these headsets will allow her students to implement’s Google’s voice-to-text platform which will help them better organize their thoughts.
"This piece of technology is going to change people’s lives, and they’ll be able to do a lot more work in less time, have their ideas that are stuck in their head that they have a hard time writing,” Kellman said.
“Those are going to come out and they’re going to be able to share those, so I’m really, really excited about this.”
