Big Horn County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases Friday afternoon, including two children under the age of 10.
Along with the four positive cases announced Friday morning , Big Horn County added a total of 14 new cases of COVID-19 over the day, according to a news release from Health Officer Rhonda Johnson.
Of the new afternoon cases, one was showing symptoms, and the other nine were tested through contact tracing with others known to have the disease, according to Johnson.
The new cases includes a boy and a girl under the age of 10, one female and three males between 10 and 19, a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 30s, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s.
None of Friday's positive cases tested at surveillance testing sites held at different sites in the county last week and this week.
Big Horn County has 26 cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, eight have recovered and 18 are active. One person is in the hospital.
Not all of the new Big Horn County cases have been recorded yet by the state, but this new batch appears to push Montana to 500 total cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak began. Statewide, 34 of those cases are active.
MTN is reporting one fewer total case and one fewer recovered case due to a case in Jefferson County that local health authorities report involved a patient who was not in the state.
