CORVALLIS — Corvallis Middle School will be closed starting on Tuesday due to staffing issues.
Corvallis Superintendent Jon Konen says in an email sent to MTN News that the middle school will remain closed through the Thanksgiving Break.
Konen says that "recent COVID-19 cases at the middle school have made filling positions impossible."
The middle school will be in closure from Nov. 17 through Nov. 24 for onsite learning. Konen says all grades will be working remotely in Google Classroom starting on Tuesday.
Parent/Teacher Zoom Conferences will continue as planned for the middle school.
Students will be back on campus on Nov. 30.
Konen says the Ravalli County Health Department, Corvallis school nursing team, and administration are working to determine any close contacts and quarantines.
"We are recommending middle school students and families stay at home as much as possible until school resumes. This will help slow the spread and transmission of COVID-19," Konen said.
The closure only applies to the Corvallis Middle School. The primary and high school will continue with in-person learning.
