Gov. Gianforte provides COVID-19 update for Montana

HELENA — Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte held a press conference on Friday afternoon to provide an update on the COVID-19 situation in Montana.

Gov. Gianforte noted that Montana ranks at #7 when it comes to vaccinating residents against COVID-19.

Additionally, the governor reports Montana has conducted nearly 100,000 vaccinations and nearly 25,000 residents have been fully vaccinated.

Gov. Gianforte sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking for additional COVID-19 vaccine to be sent to Montana.

He noted that the Treasure State ranks #45 when it comes to the number of vaccines per capita distributed by the federal government.

Montana State Medical Officer Dr. Greg Holzman says over 15,000 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are expected to be delivered to Montana next week.

Gianforte will be joined by General Matt Quinn, executive director of Governor Gianforte’s COVID-19 Task Force, and Dr. Greg Holzman, Montana’s state medical officer.
