MISSOULA — The Grizzly Peak retirement facility in Missoula offered its residents and caretakers the first round of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The facility is one of the first retirement homes in Missoula to offer the vaccine to residents.

The vaccine was administered by the Western Montana Incident Management Team to Grizzly Peak residents and associates in two doses, which will be given a few weeks apart.

Eighty-five residents received the vaccine on Thursday afternoon.

Grizzly Peak general manager Audrina Stark says giving a little sense of normalcy back to the residents is important.

“For me, it means I can give some hope and give some wonderful news going into 2021. That, you know, going into summer fun being able to have events again and galas and, you know, do amazing, wonderful bingo games and you know really have those events on the horizon of just you know simply having fun,” Stark said.

The facility will give another round of the Pfizer vaccine in a few weeks.
