POLSON — The Lake County Board of Health Commissioners has voted to extend their COVID-19 emergency ordinance that covers face masks for 30 days.

This extension was made in an effort to continue to have the active COVID-19 cases remain low.

County Commissioner Bill Barron says the extension of the ordinance was voted by the Board of Commissioners 4-to-1.

Barron also says implementing this ordinance will help the board prepare to help businesses who would still like to have customers use masks in their establishments.

“If we do lift the mask mandate we want to wanna try to do some things to protect store owners that still want to do it,” Barron said.

Barron told MTN News that the ordinance will give the Board of Health an idea if removing the mandate will be beneficial to the county.
