Missoula County reports 39 new COVID-19 cases

MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting that 39 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Thursday update.

The number of active COVID-19 cases stands has risen slightly from 194 on Thursday to 198.

One of the new cases as well as 12 of the currently active cases are associated with the University of Montana.

The total number of confirmed cases in Missoula County stands at 7,808 including 7,528 recoveries and 82 deaths.

MCCHD reports the number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations remains at 17 including 10 county residents.

The average of daily new cases per 100,000 stands at 23. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.

The Board of Health announced on Jan. 21 that there will be an easing of several of the COVID-19 restrictions in place for Missoula County.

Missoula County residents can call 406-258-INFO weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discuss COVID-19 information.
