MISSOULA — The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) is reporting that 8 additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed since the Friday update.
The number of active COVID-19 cases has dropped from 148 on Monday to 132.
None of the new cases and seven of the active cases are associated with the University of Montana.
The total number of confirmed cases in Missoula County currently stands at 8,008 including 7,770 recoveries and 82 deaths.
The number of COVID-19 related hospitalizations is not available in the Tuesday update.
The average of daily new cases per 100,000 has dipped to 17. The MCCHD goal is to bring that number down to 25/100,000 people for two consecutive weeks or more.
MCCHD is seeking public input ahead of the Feb. 18 meeting where revisions to current COVID-19 rules will be considered.
MCCHD announced on Feb. 11 that the countywide mask mandate will remain in effect even after the statewide mandate ending on Feb. 12.

The Board of Health announced on Jan. 21 that there will be an easing of several of the COVID-19 restrictions in place for Missoula County.
