Philipsburg schools report 2nd COVID-19 case

PHILIPSBURG — A second COVID-19 case has been confirmed in the Philipsburg School District.

School officials report they were notified on Wednesday evening that there has been a second positive test for COVID-19, according to a social media post.

Staff and students who are at risk of exposure will be contacted by the Granite County Health Department.

People who feel sick or ill are asked to contact their medical providers for specific instructions and to not go to school.

The school district has also announced that upcoming volleyball games have been canceled or rescheduled.

Thursday night's game will be rescheduled for Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m., but Saturday's game will not, it will be a no-contest.

Additionally, the non-conference game at Hot Springs set for Tuesday has been canceled, and will not be made up.

Granite County currently has 10 active COVID-19 cases and to date has seen a total of 32 confirmed cases.
