ANACONDA – Anaconda Police Chief Tim Barkel has confirmed to MTN News that his office investigated a report of the Anaconda High School principal sending an inappropriate text message to a former student.
A few weeks ago, police received a report from a 19-year-old former student that the junior and senior high school principal, Shawn Hansen, sent him a text asking him out on a date.
Barkel says his department is not investigating the incident further because both parties are adults and therefore it’s not a criminal matter.
Barkel added that the school district has placed Hansen on administrative leave in connection with this incident.
