BUTTE – A wanted man is in custody after several tense hours in the Mining City.
Butte police officers along with the SWAT team engaged in a three-hour long standoff with a fugitive who barricaded himself inside a residence on Mercury Street near Washington Street Sunday evening.
The standoff ended about 7:30 p.m. Sunday after SWAT team apprehended the man inside the home. The wanted man is in custody and no injuries were reported.
This is a developing story. Butte police are expected to provide more details about the incident on Monday.
