LOLO – The search is continuing for a “person of interest” in Friday’s double homicide in Missoula.

Authorities are still looking for Jonathan Whitworth who has been seen in the Lolo area since Friday’s incident.

Whitworth is 5’11” tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He is a Native American male who has brown hair and brown eyes.

He is believed to be armed and dangerous and if anyone sees him they are to contact the authorities immediately.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office reports that they had several people contacting them overnight about Whitworth.

The Sheriff’s Office had several deputies in the Lolo area — south of the center of town — after Whitworth was seen leaving a residence on foot.

In a social media post, the Sheriff’s Office says “we are following every lead and taking every call for service very seriously. If you have seen officers in that area this is why.”

The Sheriff’s Office notes that they have not received any further credible information Whitworth is still in the area and that no “manhunt” is taking place in the Lolo area.

Residents are being asked to remain cautious and report and suspicious activity to authorities.

However, in their social media post, the Sheriff’s Office notes that residents “do not have to lock themselves inside their home.”

Whitworth is wanted in connection what the Missoula Police Department is calling a double homicide that happened early Friday morning at a motel on West Broadway in Missoula.

The Missoula Police Department is leading the investigation into the incident.

A man has been arrested in connection with the double homicide.

Preston Rossbach, 18, was taken into custody at around 5 p.m. on Friday according to the Missoula County inmate roster.

Missoula Police Lieutenant Ed McLean told MTN News that Rossbach was interviewed by Detectives and was then arrested.
