Suspect sought in Missoula double murder arrested

MISSOULA – A man who has been on the run from law enforcement after a Friday morning double murder in Missoula has been arrested.

Missoula County Sheriff McDermott says that Jonathan Whitworth was arrested at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Sunday without incident near the Missoula International Airport.

Sheriff McDermott reports that Whitworth was reported being seen riding a bike in the area.

Whitworth, 27, has been on the run since early Friday after two people were found shot to death at a Missoula motel.

He had been previously been reported in the Lolo and Stevensville areas.
