MISSOULA – The third person of interest in the investigation into the double homicide at a Missoula motel has been released on her own recognizance.

18-year-old LaBenza Charlo is currently facing a felony attempted criminal drug possession charge and court documents say that on Oct. 18 Charlo went to the Mountain Valley Inn looking for drugs.

Surveillance footage shows Charlo returning to the motel later that day with Preston Rossbach and Jonathan Whitworth.

When interviewed by police, Rossbach said that when the three couldn’t find any drug,s Whitworth shot and killed 23-year-old Jason Flink and 31-year-old Megan Mclaughlin.

A third person was injured and transported to the hospital.

Charlo was found in Lake County by tribal police on Thursday morning and was then arrested and transported by Lake County Sheriff’s deputies to Missoula County.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 16.
