KALISPELL – Authorities in the Flathead are investigating a Thursday morning incident that resulted in a high-speed chase.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry says that deputies were dispatched to a neighborhood south of Whitefish for a report of a burglary in progress at around 8 a.m. It was also reported someone at the location had fired a gun, and a vehicle had fled the scene.

Sheriff Curry says that upon arriving at the scene, deputies — and an FWP officer — spotted the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.

The suspect vehicle led officers onto a service road off KM Ranch when it finally stopped and the one person inside the vehicle tried to flee from officers.

Sheriff Curry says in a news release that, “at this time persons involved are currently being detained and interviewed by Detectives of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the investigation continues.”

The Kalispell Police Department, the Montana Highway Patrol and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks assisted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office during the incident.
