DEER LODGE – The man shot by police during a standoff in Deer Lodge Monday remains hospitalized today.
Powell County Sheriff Scott Howard identified the man as 46-year-old Timothy Wayne Sweet. Sweet is accused of firing more than 50 gunshots in and around his home at 813 Higgins Avenue early Monday.

When police responded to the scene, Sweet is accused of firing shots at the officers before being shot in the arm by one of the officers.
Sweet remains hospitalized at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. The state Division of Criminal Investigation is handling the case and no charges have been filed in this matter as of Friday.
