MISSOULA – A man who led authorities on pursuit and foot chase before being stopped by a homeowner with a gun on Monday morning is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
Justin Douglas Delany, 22, faces multiple charges including theft, fleeing from police, burglary, and criminal mischief.
The chase started near Pulp Mill Road east of Frenchtown when a Missoula County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a stolen car around 8 a.m.
Authorities say Delany did pull over, but ignored orders from the deputy and then sped off, driving through a construction site, several fields and fences on Mullan Road before stopping at Haven Heights.
That’s where he tried to run away, only to be stopped by a homeowner who held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived to make the arrest.
Delany is set to appear in Missoula Justice Court on Tuesday afternoon.
