MISSOULA – A Frenchtown woman who has been charged with the 2013 murders of her two roommates is asking the judge to exclude evidence in her upcoming trial.
Caressa Hardy is facing murder charges in connection with the deaths of Thomas Korjack and Robert Orozco.
Defense attorneys claim Hardy’s cellmate was placed with her because he agreed to be a confidential informant and reported private defense information to jail officials.
The defense team is arguing that this violates their clients right to confidential communication between a lawyer and their client. They also argue that detectives knew that their informant was looking at private information and allowed it to continue anyway.
Hardy’s defense lawyers also submitted a motion to exclude all evidence of alleged human remains found on Hardy’s property. On two different occasions, law enforcement found what they believed to be the human remains of Korjack and Orozco.
Hardy’s defense team says they have not received any lab results from testing on the evidence and that since it is already so close to the time of trial they have not had an adequate amount of time to conduct their own independent testing.
The judge has yet to rule on the motions.
