GREAT FALLS – A Hays woman who was convicted of sexually abusing and photographing a child was sentenced in federal court Wednesday.

Geneva Nadeau, 38, was sentenced to 22 years in prison with 15 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to aggravated sexual abuse.

Prosecutors said that in October of 2015 in Hays, Nadeau sexually abused a child who was younger than 12 and photographed the abuse, according to the Department of Justice.

Nadeau was indicted after the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office got a tip that Nadeau had an email address that contained child pornography.

Nadeau was arrested on unrelated charges and law enforcement discovered she also had child porn images on her tablet, including the sex abuse of the child.
