MISSOULA – We are learning more information on a story we first brought you on Tuesday night.

Missoula Police responded to an incident Tuesday night at Eastgate Plaza involving an altercation between two transients and the reports of a knife being involved.

The victim in the incident was transported to the hospital with knife wounds Tuesday night.

Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh says the victim is refusing to press charges against the suspect — who has been identified as Carlos Close.

Sgt. Welsh says the suspect will still face two counts of criminal mischief in Municipal court. Close also has an outstanding arrest warrant out of Mineral County.

MPD said they have completed their investigation into the matter.
