MISSOULA — A man has been charged for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl after the victim told her therapist about the conversations they had.
James Edwin Lewis, 65, was arrested and is being charged with sexual abuse of children.
Court documents say he told police officers he has been talking about sex with the girl since she was eight years old.
When asked why he thought that was appropriate, Lewis said he was worried the girl was "giving people the wrong impression."
The girl was interviewed by authorities and said a recent conversation made her "pretty uncomfortable," according to court documents.
She said Lewis told her not to tell her mother because she would kill him.
Lewis is being held in the Missoula County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.
