Deliberate homicide charge filed after Missoula shooting victim passes away

MISSOULA — A man is facing a new charge after the victim of a Missoula shooting passed away.

Following the death of shooting victim Jonathan D. Wollack, defendant Zakai Houck, 20, is being charged with deliberate homicide.

According to court documents, Wollack was shot and left in the road on Ancabide Lane in Missoula on May 11.

Wollack was taken to the hospital and treated for gunshot injuries. The Missoula County Sherriff's Office said Wollack later died from these injuries.

Court documents identify Houck as the shooter in the incident.

New charges filed on May 21 in Missoula County District Court also include tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Houck is being held in the Missoula County Detention Center on $2 million bond.
