MISSOULA — Authorities have released the name of the man whose body was found near the Orange Street Bridge in downtown Missoula on Friday.
Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott reports the victim of what is now being investigated as a homicide was Lee R. Nelson, 65, of Missoula.
The Missoula Police Department received reports that a dead body had been found near a river trail on Friday.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh previously said the death was determined to have been a homicide after witness interviews lead investigators to believe a possible suspect was pushing the victim in a wheelchair.
Sgt. Welsh told MTN News that law enforcement is looking for a male who at the time was described as wearing a red jacket or hoodie and dark pants.
MPD asked for the community's help in identifying a suspect and possible witnesses on Monday.
