MISSOULA — It's plenty busy at the Missoula County Fairgrounds as election employees are processing ballots from Tuesday's election.
Missoula County Elections Administrator Bradley Seaman says the county return rate is up to 89.49%, with over 71,000 ballots accepted by 7:30 p.m.
There have also been 840 new registered voters.
Over 64,000 ballots have been counted, and those who got in line at the Missoula County Elections Office before 8 p.m. were still allowed to cast their vote.
"It takes a whole village, from everybody we have staffing our elections office to the people working our election day drive-thru drop-offs, the people working in here,” Seaman said.
“And the reality is -- I've been saying a lot -- we can issue ballots, we can count votes, but it's up to the voters to get us these numbers and high return rates,” he added.
